So, heres a thing that has happened, writer Chuck Wendigtweetedat 2:54 p.m.

I just got fired from Marvel.

Hes perhaps best known for writing the officialStar WarsnovelAftermath, published in 2015.

Then, in Wendigs telling, a curious email appeared in his inbox.

It was fromStar Warscomics editor Mark Paniccia.

He sent me an email to ask for a call, Wendig tells Vulture.

Wendig says Paniccia was very clear about the reason, actually: Wendigs Twitter presence.

I was too vulgar, too political, and I was bringing too much … he trails off.

InAftermath, he made headlines byintroducing a gay character, something that certain sectors of fandom didnt cotton to.

Youre not the good guys, he oncewroteof those who disparaged his queer representation.

Youre the fucking Empire, man.

Youre the shitty, oppressive, totalitarian Empire.

However, the politics thing is an open question.

He remains confused about why this is all happening now.

Its not like this is new for me, he says of his approach to online discourse.

This is pretty much the tenor of my Twitter and my blog.

Wendig isnt worried about his income comics were always just a supplementary hustle to his prose writing.

Be good to each other.

Im gonna go hug my kid and eat a sandwich.
