I dont think his character is redeemed at all he starts off as a racist jerk.
McDonagh wants you to know that he made a deliberately messy and difficult film.
Its not like all those other movies.
I dont like films that everyone loves, he said.
And were not making films for six year olds, were not makingThe Avengers.
Were trying to do something thats a bit little more difficult and more thoughtful.
