That was not what I was expecting.
Most have been satisfying enough on their own terms.
Looking back, however, it seems likeThe Purgewas always heading toward such a moment.
Their storyline could just end with Penelope chilling with Miguel and planning for the future.
They could even bond with Joe, who seems pretty relaxed himself.
Im just doing my own thing, he claims, which is accurate as far as it goes.
(His solo presence, of course, raises the question of where Jane is, however.)
(About as long as Jennas seemingly five-minute nap, to be precise.)
Its a moment that reveals a lot about Lilas character, too.
Specifically how, in the end, shell always pull the trigger.
Shell always look after herself and what she wants.
Shell always negotiate, but shell never give anything away she cant sacrifice.
But is she wrong?
Morally, of course shes wrong.
Take the scene where Rosss wife Carol shows up looking for her late husband.
She apparently doesnt make it out of the episode alive, stabbed by Jenna when she threatens Rick.
Im not going to write that obit yet, however.
That said, Im not sure Id take bets onanybodywith only two episodes left.
As the sun threatens to rise on thisPurgenight, were entering uncharted territory.
Pete seems like a solid guy.
(But then, so did Joe.)
