A few times an episode three, maybe four the show thatThe Politiciancould be breaks through the surface.

The show as a whole is often entertaining, in a Marie Kondo I love mess kind of way.
It sometimes manages to throw out scenes that are smart, or affecting.
Lines or beats that marry something with real weight or substance to the shows wild tone.
It quickly dissolves into a really toxic shouting match, though the Ron Paul line is funny.
ASuccession-style tells you how rich you are kind of watchanda time-share?
Hes got a great little grift going, the monster.
Hes got company in the monster category, though.
(Answer: no way possible unless youre pandering to shop teachers and old white janitorial staffers.)
Then, bam, shes off the ticket.
But thats not the monstrous thing here.
Its been incredibly inconsistent.
Sometimes they, together and individually, talk about this like Infinity is faking it.
Sometimes they talk about it like shes being poisoned.
First of all, what is wrong with you?
Report it to someone who can do something!
(Not Sheriff Nenninger, though.)
And wouldnt that absolutely trump buttmunch?
Thats when the show seems clear to me.
It is both punchline and roar, a breaking heart and a moment of pure absurdity.
It is also the scene that contains the line, Thats what gays do!
Munch butts and celebrate Halloween!
and so I cannot help but like it.
There is no reason not to do that.
He was with people, and then later he was home, and that house definitely has cameras.
And so does Astrids, because the last episode included actual footage of Ricardo climbing the fence.
(Its a lot!)
Enjoy your timeshare, Nenninger.
Nothing there to clarify which question shes asking.
Does she want to know if Payton could have won the election?
Or is she asking if Payton could have hurt her?
And then theres AstridsGone Girlhomage, a plot so muddied I dont even really know what to say.
We see her fake her kidnapping.
We see her in the cheap New York motel room shes using to hide, and to bang Ricardo.
We hear her monologue about hating her life and relishing time spent among the peasants.
And we see Ricardo convince her to head home, just as hes going back to Infinity.
And then it … works?
And a thousand things fly across Lucy Boyntons face.
What do they mean?
But its a good scene, and thats not nothing.
Talking Points
Was Skyes vigil supposed to seem so shameless?
If so, mission accomplished.
Shes a great speaker, though.
Not much to say about the I Feel Love reveal at the end of the episode yet.
Are we supposed to believe theyve been hooking up this whole time?
Or is this new?
Hey, you wanna go back to Bubba Gumps?
Costume of the episode:McAfees hookup suit is amazing.
