And it was a wise move on ABCs part to hold this one.

This episode ofThe Connerscould have been any sitcom dealing with death.
Well, any sitcom except forRoseanneat its best.
Darlene, Becky, and Jackie are particularly worried about Dan.
Does Dan really want to be left alone?
Drawing attention to himself with his outdoor TV viewing perch suggests not.
As does attending a grief support group where hell be called upon to share his feelings with strangers.
Yet, there he was.
Dan admits in the support group meeting that hes not pleased with God.
The only bigger waste of talent in the scene was with the always brilliant M.C.
Gainey, guest-starring as the platitude-spewing support group leader.
We get it … God broke their deal.
The Separation of Church and Dan doesnt do that.
Jackie is the only family member who doesnt have a problem with attending church services.
I take my mother to services every Sunday, she says.
Just to remind God shes still here, in case he forgot to take her.
Dan tells the support group hes 66.
Darlene later says hes 65.
This seems like something they should be able to agree on.
Its the most fun moment of the episode, and its reminiscent of some of Roseannes great musical moments.
TheBonnie Bramlett-led sing-along of You Really Got a Hold On Meremains a classic.
