No, not Logan Roy.

Im happy to leave it for people to decide, he says.
I want to ask you about the John Berryman poem Dream Song 29.
The title of this seasons finale, This Is Not for Tears, comes from that poem.
The show is the best expression of the show.
Forgive me if Im reluctant to over-explicate or make things plain.
Nevertheless, its true about that poem.
In Berrymans poems case, in the end, [a death] hasnt happened.
But it has happened to Kendall.
When I was looking at possibilities, that line struck me as pertinent to this episode as well.
Or was it always going to be Kendall? The structure was down early on.
The ending came even before that [blood sacrifice] phrase from Logan.
We enjoyed rehearsing the different people Logan might consider, but [Kendall] was set from early on.
Episode nine ends with Logan calling for a sacrifice.
We tend not to do obfuscation or red herrings.
I was happy that the ending might be a surprise and a shock.
Not revealing precisely what Gregs and Kendalls intentions and thoughts are, thats really quite brief.
On the whole, that wasnt an idea to mislead.
I was curious about where the episode was filmed.
We said, If were going to do this, we should reflect what it really is like.
Scott had a hell of a job trying to find one of these yachts.
It was tough to find, but Scott persevered.
There were discussions about where it could be if it wasnt on a yacht.
He really came through and managed to find an affordable way to do this.
For a number of reasons, we really wanted it to be on a yacht.
Im guessing one of those reasons is that the Roys are isolated and trapped.
They cant just walk out when theyre on a boat.Exactly.
It was what we really wanted.
Where was it shot?In Croatia, nearer to Drasnice.
We do almost everything on location.
I think its good for the show.
So all of those interiors are the real interiors.
But Im going to ask you out of curiosity.Ill have a go at say something if I can.
He seems to have them in his possession when Kendall is speaking during the press conference.
But we dont actually see Kendall and Greg discuss this.
I assume thats something they worked out on the plane.
Is that a fair assumption?
Theres enough in the episode that would lead you to make some assumptions.
He flashes a little hint of a smile, or at least what I perceived as a smile.
Was that in the script?Theres a script direction for him to give that kind of look.
Brians so brilliant that you get many layers.
Hes such an amazing actor.
Earlier in the episode, one of the shareholders suggests that he should step down.
Is it possible he sacrificed Kendall knowing that Kendall might retaliate?Okay, wow.
Its fun to hear that people are coming up with their own interpretations like that.
Ill just say, the show is the best version of the show.
Im happy for people to engage with it.
Looking ahead, at what point in the process are you with regard to season three?
When does the writers room regroup for season three?Within a month or so.
You wrote this season quite some time ago.
I come with a ton of stuff.
We check out everything we do with other people.
All the writers and myself have feelings and thoughts about whats happening in the U.S. and the wider world.
Were not ripping stuff straight from the headlines and throwing it into the show.
Were taking what feels like its around and fitting it to the characters we have.
Then were in a good place to accidentally hit on themes in reality.
They are lucky hits.
