Some spoilers for Josie below.

Youd be forgiven for failing to recognize Sophie Turner when she first appears inJosie.

She has to be young and it has to be questionable.

Thats the alluring thing about her for [McDermotts character] Hank.

So it was all part of the plan.

He went pretty method, actually.

He was 100 percent committed to the role.

He would be in his trailer smoking cigars, listening to country music.

Is there anything that would push you to also try method acting?Yeah, definitely.

Id definitely be open to trying method, Im always up for trying different kinds of techniques.

But Ive never gone full method.

Ill be interested to see if I do it.

As you mentioned, Josie is kind of a facade, so youre playing someone whos playing somebody else.

Shes been doing it her whole life, ever since her mum died.

I had a lot of time with a dialect coach.

Im constantly around the standard American accent.

Its tough to do something that sounds a lot nicer than a British accent, a lot more sing-song-y.

It was great, it really helped me transform into a different character.

This is one of the most transformative roles I think Ive done so far.

I loved the tortoise race scene in particular.

Can you tell me anything about filming that? The tortoises were not good actors.

It was a little tough.

Dont work with animals or children.

Thats the rule, right?

So Ive been told!

Josie plays the part of both a mediator and someone who stirs up a lot of trouble.

Now, I dont think Im that so much; Im more of a mediator.

To be honest, I just stay out of everyones business.

I stay out of everything, Im very impartial.

Im definitely not a troublemaker anymore, but Im sure I was when I was 17, 18.

I just wanted to get into trouble.

Now Im an adult, you know?

So I find strength in women that other people probably wouldnt find strength in.

Has there been a press release yet?

(Publicist: No, I dont think we can say just yet.)

Oh, yeah, I cant.

Im not even sure if I have comedic timing.

I think it would be a real challenge.

So, a comedy would be the most challenging thing, I think, for me to do.

Thats the only way I would do it.

I definitely wouldnt rule it out.

Id need voice coaching.
