But thats quite okay.
Im not even sure I could describe the plot in any way that does it justice.
Heck, even eggs go bad by the second day.
But nobody feels it more than the people hanging onto their normal lives.
Morris does what every trapped middle-aged man does: He dreams of adventure on the seas.
And that very yearning is what leads him into trouble.
Trouble goes by the name of Jill.
The results are shady and violent, yet full of goofy verve.
And the net result is some of the freshest feeling sci-fiandneo-noir in recent memory.
dynamicthat puts the audience at a distance.
Thats because it isnt really whats happening here.
Sure, Crazy Diamond is weird as hell, but on a pure story level, its quite grounded.
Were too transfixed by the reality of the characters psychology.
The ways well cling to the ground when were certain we just lost it all.
Sure, we might call Ed a coward.
And in that moment, I was reminded of a certain song.
/ Come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
/ Shine on you crazy diamond.
