But yeah, still not a lot of stories told through womens eyes.
Even Labakis third-place Jury Prize win was booed in the press-screening simulcast of the closing ceremony.
They dont often gravitate toward emotional films, which they dismiss as melodrama.
They like austerity and heaviness, and are skeptical of a light touch.
They need to be invested in finding and cultivating those filmmakers early on.
Thats pretty damning, I think.
That kind of contradiction cant last long.
