All of this started with Karen Page.

InDaredevil, men do things and Karen Page pays for them.
Shes wasting her potential, and her family knows it.
Shes got to get out of Fagan Corners.
Karen, however, doesnt have it in her to escape the orbit of this sad gray town.
Shes content to sell coke and shoot guns with her lousy boyfriend, convinced shes not going anywhere.
Maybe thats her life now.
Its because shes feels obligated to her family.
And who can move on in a world like this, anyway?
Who has the money to start over?
Theres a framed lottery ticket that they keep in the restaurant, a memento of Karens late mother.
Karen shatters the frame, and scratches the losing card.
Then she leaves, and Todd picks her up.
Kevin, however, is furious.
Driving away from Todds, Karen is a mess.
She wants to know why Kevin did that, and Kevin tells her that they already lost mom.
Its the last thing he says before Karen crashes the car, killing her brother.
In the aftermath, the police are kind to the Page family.
Karens father, however, cant forgive her.
He tells her to leave.
But maybe in the present, she can find redemption.
Theres a part of me that wishes this was the entire episode.
Just the small, Appalachian tragedy of Karen Page.
But maybe its for the best that its not.
There are parts of Karen that come close to being tremendously affecting, but something is wanting.
(But purely in relation to yet another trauma.)
Meanwhile, as Matt has discovered, Wilson Fisk has sent Dex dressed as Daredevil to kill her.
(Complete with Muay Thai ropes.)
He whispers for Matt to forgive him.
As Matt recovers, the fight goes on, and Matt is unable to gain the upper hand.
Its not looking good.
