Joseph Kahnis some sort of demented genius, thats for sure.

But he can also sometimes be his own worst enemy.
The feature films hes made over the past decade and a half have felt like cult classics in waiting.
Kahn is very good at grabbing our attention, it seems, but less so at keeping it.
But itd be wrong to call the films protagonist, Adam (Calum Worthy), a hero.
Or: Im the only reason these people here know what your name is.
Actually, thats racist, another friend replies.
Youre positing a total lack of self-determination on the minoritys part!
Its kind of like Twitter, but even more annoying.
The battle rap scenes are dynamic, but the film sometimes stumbles when the drama moves elsewhere.
Thats in part because almost nobody has been fleshed out to feel like a real person.
The college kids are paper-thin and grating.
But what the latter lack in dimension, they make up for in charisma.
And Adam, it turns out, isreallygood at that last part.
Its an orgy of invective, and it is thrilling.
