Could there be yet anotherBreaking Badspinoff?

Will Kim Wexler or Gene the Cinnabon manager live on pastSauls eventual finale?

Never say never, Gilligan said.

Ahead of the season, AMC confirmed that Chuck really died in that fire.

We dont engage in that because it feels like a cheat, and it feels cheap.

I would never want to stick it to our audience.

If no one had asked us, Is Chuck really dead?

we probably wouldve let it sit.

But so many people asked us, we finally just said, All right already, hes dead.

Im not big into spoilers.

Just personally, I dont want anything spoiled.

Its like, Oh, gee, I wanted two ponies, not one.

But we live in a world of spoilers now.

We started off by saying, Okay, is Chuck McGill really dead?

Lets be devils advocate for half an hour.

Is he horribly burned?

You go through the checklist and you flowchart it, as we call it.

If this happened, then where do we go?

Where are we then?

We always stay as open-minded as possible for as long as possible.

I want to stress this was a great sadness to us all.

We love Michael McKean.

How do you find a better actor than Michael McKean?

How do you find someone whos just that good?

They dont grow on trees.

Plus, hes a pleasure to work with, pleasure to be around.

How do you have the guy, David St. Hubbins fromSpinal Tap, singing songs for you?

How do you top that?

God, what fun to put words in this guys mouth.

At what point in the series did you see what Chuck could be?

I always thought people hated Chuck.

He did terrible things.

Just like with Walter White.

Thatd be about the worst thing you could say to those characters.

Hopefully folks feel a little different about him at the end.

How do you not miss that guy?

Weve got some really intense stuff coming up along those lines.

Then, Jimmy McGills life post-Chuck takes some dark turns.

He does some things that make it harder for their relationship to blossom.

Its a tragedy that Jimmy McGill ever turns into Saul Goodman.

We hear fans say, Well, does itreallyhave to happen?

We ourselves have said, Doesitactuallyhave to happen?

The show is calledBetter Call Saul.

Its tough because it means the end of Jimmy.Yeah.

Jimmys a guy I want to know especially the earlier Jimmy, who struggled to do the right thing.

He pretty quickly bent the law, but he seldom broke it.

Now, its more rare that he hews to the law than when he breaks it.

Hes not the Jimmy McGill that we knew and loved in season one.

It is a logarithmic sort of progression.

At any step along the way, hes not quite the Jimmy he used to be.

That grows increasingly sad as it occurs.

Fans are also wondering about the possibility of future spinoffs.

Is there another prequel or sequel in this universe?

Is there a Kim or Gene series?Never say never.

How much is too much?

Thats very much in the eye of the beholder, and the eye of the individual fan.

I dont know how long this goes.

I dont know how many spinoffs it could support.

Thats a very unsatisfying answer, but Im taking it day by day and trying to figure it out.

How long doesBetter Call Saulgo?

Is there something after that or something during that?

Its a tough question to answer.

Fans certainly havent tired of this universe yet, though.

Is there any gas left in the tank?

God forbid Im ever doing any of this for a paycheck.

You dont want to lose audiences trust.Thatd be a terrible thing to lose.

Ive seen it get lost other places.

Its a terrible thing, and once you lose it, it doesnt come back.

Theres a lot of things I could bear losing in my life, but that would be bad.
