So is Vile the voice of a generation?

But does Vile quietly innovate within the boundaries placed around him?
Its almost as if hes not beholden to the machinations of the music industry, or the world.
His fans are not fickle listeners.
It is an unusually accomplished record, and maybe Viles best.
Though it was his third album,Childish Prodigywas, in a sense, Viles breakout.
It doesnt have any of the earlier releases homespun beauty, but it doesnt need to.
The only bad thing about it is that its too short.
It is Kurt Viles most formless album (not in a bad way!)
Inan interviewhe said that it was kind of a wandering record, and it is.
Pure Pain,Wakin On a Pretty Daze
After about a minute, Pure Pain unfurls itself.
Its one of his most overtly melancholy songs and a career standout.
That doesnt mean that there arent great songs, or thatBlievedoesnt pave some new ground, though.
(Im joking, mostly … Kurt Viles music is notoverwhelminglydepressing, but sometimes it does get there.)
Vile doesnt really deviate from Newmans original, but he doesnt need to.
This might be a cover, but its also one of the best things hes ever done.
That is a ballsy move, but this is what Vile is good at.
Bottle It In the track, andBottle It Inthe album marks a major turning point for Vile.
